Period 2-3

1. SSR (15-20 mins.)

Begin silent reading.
As you are reading, Mrs. King will be calling you over to check your vocabulary workbooks (if you don't have all activities done yet).  This will not be checked again.

2. Vocabulary: (15-20 mins) 
Get a chrome book and log in.
Go to Quizlet.com.
Study your Lesson 2 words.

3. Grammar: (15-20 mins)
     a. We'll go over the Rule 5 pages today in the Grammar Packet (Rules 2, 3, 4, & 5) 

     b. Hand in your grammar packet.

     c. Quiz on Rules 2-5 on Monday

4. Writing: (10 minutes)

 In your journal, respond to one of these prompts.  Your answer should be at least 3 complete sentences, but not longer than two paragraphs. (You should have two entries done by Monday, which will be checked). Spelling, grammar and capitalization should all be correct.

Grammar packet: Quiz on Monday
1 New Year's writing prompt (20 entries due on 1/31)

Period 5-6

1. SSR (15-20 mins.)

Begin silent reading.
As you are reading, Mrs. King will be calling you over to check your vocabulary workbooks. This will not be checked again.  Vocab. test on Lesson 2 words will be on Friday.

2. Vocabulary (15-20 mins) 
Take out your vocabulary workbook.

Turn to activity E to be checked (if you already showed it to Mrs. King yesterday, then you don't need to take it out.)

3. Grammar (15-20 mins) 

Take out your grammar packet to be checked (up to p.35 should be done).

We will do the next page of the packet together.

P.37 is HW.

4. Literature (15-20 mins) 

Take out your Stargirl packet & get a copy of the book.
Today we will finish reading up through chapter 26 and answer the questions for chapters 23-26 in the packet.

5. Writing (10 mins.)

In your journal, respond to one of these prompts.  Your answer should be at least 3 sentences, but not longer than two paragraphs. I would really like to see five-seven sentences.
