Period 2-3

Do Now:
1. Take out your SSR book.
2. Open up to your SSR log sheet.
3. Fill out the time and page you are starting on.
4. Begin silent reading.
5. When the timer goes off write your reading log.

To Do:
1. Writing: Write your reading log.
2. Get a chrome book.  Open up Google Classroom.
Scroll to the Thanksgiving How To Essay.
Open the document.
Read the directions.

-We will set up our Thanksgiving How To Essay today so 
we can begin writing it tomorrow in class!

3. Vocab.:  We will play Quizlet.live to study the vocab. words 
you chose for the quiz which is on Friday.

4. Reading: We will continue reading The Call of the Wild today.
We will work on the chapters 4 & 5 packet too.

HW:
1. Study vocabulary words for Friday's quiz.
2. SSR Log sheet due Friday
3. Bring in your recipe for the Thanksgiving How To Essay.
If you don't bring it, you will miss out on in-class writing time.

1. Writing: Write your reading log.

2. Grammar: Color By Number Independent and Dependent Clauses sheet

3. Vocab.:  We will play Quizlet.live to study the vocab. words from
 "The Monkey's Paw" you chose for the quiz which is on Friday.

4. Reading: We will read "The Third Wish" which is similar to "The Monkey's Paw" 
in several ways.  As we read, note similarities and differences between the two
stories.  This will help you to write a compare and contrast essay later on.

HW:
1. Study vocabulary words for Friday's quiz.
2. SSR Log due sheet due Friday
3. CommonLit.org assignments: "The Monkey's Paw"
and "The Third Wish" due Friday. (2 separate assignments)
