Period 2-3

Do Now: Get a chrome book and log in.

To Do: 

1. Vocab.:  We will take the vocab. quiz on chapters 1-3 from TCOTW.
To take the quiz follow these steps:
     a. Go to Google Classroom.
     b. Click on the Classwork tab.
     c. Scroll to The Call of the Wild section.
     d. Click on the Ch.1-3 TCOTW Vocab. Quizlet.
     e. Click on the "Test" activity.
     f. Click "options"
     g. Uncheck "written"
     h. Click "Create New Test"
     i. Begin working on your test.
     j. Raise your hand when your score comes up on the screen.

KEEP YOUR SCORE ON THE SCREEN OR YOU WILL 

HAVE TO TAKE THE TEST OVER!

     Mrs. King or Mr. Hicks will come over to write down your score.
     This counts as a quiz grade.  Don't worry!  If you are not happy with
     the grade you got today, you can always come retake it at the Drop In
     Center on a Thursday after school.


2. Reading: When you finish your test, take a new SSR sheet for this week.  
-Fill out the time and page you are starting on and begin silent reading.

3. Writing: 
Take out your recipe.  
Open up your essay.
Close your screen 1/2 way and look up at the SMART board.  
Wait quietly so Mrs. King knows you are ready to listen.
Watch as Mrs. King shows you how to write your second body paragraph.
When it is time, you will write your second body paragraph.
Tomorrow we will continue the essay.

Finish writing second body paragraph in Thanksgiving How To essay

Period 5-6

Do Now:
Take a new SSR Log sheet for this week.
Write in the page you start reading at. 
Write the time you start reading.
To Do:
1. Reading: When the timer goes off, write your reading log.

-We will go over the answers to the CommonLit assignments on 
"The Monkey's Paw" & "The Third Wish."
2. Writing: Take out your Venn diagram on "The Monkey's Paw" and "The Third Wish."
Spend two-three minutes deciding the three topics you want to compare in your essay.
Open up Google Classroom.
Click on "Compare and Contrast Essay"
Close your screen half way.
After Mrs. King shows you how to begin your essay, begin writing yours.
3. Vocab.:  We will take the vocab. quiz.

4. Grammar: Sentences & Sentence Fragments lessons on NoRedInk.
