Dear Class,
I a sorry I am unable to be in school today but I had to have a medical procedure done. Don't worry though, I will be okay! While I'm gone, please behave and work hard. I will be checking your work from home and putting your grades into PowerSchool.
Directions:
You will go on newsela.com and choose an article you're interested in.
Once you've chosen an article:
1. Set the reading level.
2. Read it.
3. Take the quiz.
4. Do the writing prompt. (Just click on the blue box that says, "Write.")
Once we do 8 articles we will get a good idea of where you are as a reader!
You must finish the quiz portion for the article by the end of class today because I'm grading it today.
If you have any extra time, go on typing.com and continue the next lesson. Remember that you must do them in order. Do not skip any lessons. You can also take this time to do SSR (silent reading). Remember to log any reading in your reading log.
