Do Now: Put all of your things down at your seat and form a large circle. We will play with a beach ball as we discuss our personal narratives.

-Have your vocabulary workbook open to lesson 5 so you homework can be checked as you're reading.
-As soon as you hear the timer go off, fill out your reading log.
2. Today we will write our personal narratives.
What are the 6 ways we can "Show," instead of "Telling" when we write a story?
(LOOK AT YOUR CHECKLIST FROM WHAT WE DID ON MONDAY).
-Use your story map, to write your personal narrative. (You are either continuing from the prior day we worked on this, or you are beginning today). Be sure that your story has a beginning, middle and end and the key elements of literature. (characters, setting, climax, resolution)
-Spend about 15-20 minutes writing your story. When the timer goes off, you will trade with a classmate for him/her to review what you've written.
-With constructive criticism and suggestions in mind, edit and revise your work.
You will then be paired with a classmate to do the following:
Read each other's personal narrative. Pick one thing that you think made his/her writing interesting.
-You may use the remainder of class to complete your personal narrative. It is due Tuesday, November 14th.
