Today we will learn the fifth signpost: "Again and Again"
Today, we'll be learning the next signpost in reading: "Again and Again." This signpost is when we see an event or an object or a phrase being used over and over in the story. If you start to notice this pattern, you, the reader, should ask, "Why does this keep showing up again and again?" This might give the reader a clue to the theme or the conflict, or it might foreshadow what will happen later.
-Whole group reading of the story & discuss (Teacher will model how to identify signpost and think aloud)
-Students will work in groups to identify the remaining signpost and answer the anchor question: "Why does this keep showing up again and again?" Reading for "Again and Again"
