Period 2-3

Do Now: Take out your new SSR book (or the one you are currently reading).

To Do:
1. SSR 
Begin reading.
Get a chrome book when the timer goes off.
Log into GoodReads.com and update it. 

2. Literature
We will take a quiz on The Outsiders Ch.4-6 Quiz using Quizizz.  

3. Writing
Write your RACE response to the prompt for chapter 5 and place it in the basket. 

4. Vocab.
Study the chapter 4-6 vocabulary using Quizlet.
Do the chapter 4 Test activity and write down your score.
Do the chapter 5 Test activity and write down your score.
Do the chapter 6 Test activity and write down your score.
The average is your actual Quiz grade.

HW: 
1. Read your SSR book for 30 minutes...If you don't have a book you need one by tomorrow.  YES, an actual book. No E-books!
2. Start NoRedInk: Mixed Practice Assignment
3. End of Chapter Questions up to chapter 6 need to be done.
4. Make up any work you have a 0 on or that is marked as MISSING in RealTime.
You are getting this opportunity now so you are not rushing to do this at the last minute, at the end of the marking period.

2. Writing (25-30 mins)
a. In your journal, write a response to this question: 

Why is it helpful or important to compare two things?  
When in life do you need to compare something to another?

b. Compare and Contrast Essay template/outline  

 YOUR COPY of the outline to fill in before writing the essay

c. Choose your essay topic from the Comparisons list.

d. We will start watching West Side Story and taking notes on the essay topic we have chosen to focus on.
