Period 2-3

Do Now: Spend a few minutes studying for the vocab. test.

To Do: Vocabulary Test on Lesson 3 ←Demonstrate mastery over Lesson 3 Vocab.


1. Literature:
     a. The Outsiders Book Starter page (p.34) ←Become familiar with the features of the                  (You will need a copy of the novel to do this.)                    book we will be reading.
         
     b. The Outsiders Slang packet to prepare for the Kahoot game.
          ↑Become familiar with specific vocab. used in The Outsiders.

     c. We will play The Outsiders Slang Kahoot.
         ↑Assess how well we understand the specific vocab. used by the  characters in The                 Outsiders.

Do Now: Spend a few minutes studying for the vocab. test.


To Do: Vocabulary Test on Lesson 3 ←Demonstrate mastery over Lesson 3 Vocab.

1. Vocab.:  We are going to take a break from the Wordly Wise Vocab. Workbooks and focus on vocabulary from Romeo and Juliet.  
     a. Read through The Language of Shakespeare notes sheets.
     b. Do The Language of Shakespeare II worksheet.
     c. We will play Kahoot using Shakespearean vocabulary to test our knowledge of what we just studied.
  ↑Start to become familiar with Shakespearean language used in the story we are reading. (This will help you understand the story a little bit better.)

2. Literature: We will go over the HW assignment, Romeo and Juliet Scavenger Hunt.

3. Writing: If there is time, you may work on your New Year's Writing Prompts in your journal (due Friday).     Link to the New Year's Writing Prompt Choices
↑Write based on opinion when given a list of prompts to reach a specified goal and follow a set of criteria. (20 prompts, 2-5 sentences per prompt, proper spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and word order.)
