*Hand in reading questions for The Green Mamba, Mrs. Flowers, and Too Soon A Woman

Do Now: Edit the paragraph in your Week 1 Editing Packet for Monday
Begin silent reading when you're done and & write a reading log when the timer goes off.

1. We will go over the Do Now editing paragraph.

2. Grammar Rule 1: 4 Types of Sentences Packet
    -hand out packet
    -review concept
    -complete first page

3. Vocabulary: Lesson 10 Vocabulary Packet 
-Together we will pronounce, highlight and discuss what each word means.
-Work on Quizlet.com to make your Lesson 10 Quizlet to help you study.
-Complete exercises A & B independently or with a partner.
We will go over exercises A & B on SMART board.

4. Reading: As a class we will begin reading The Monkey's Paw and discuss the plot, making inferences and predictions. We will use the red tabs in the margins to guide our discussion as we read.
Students will take a Reading Check Quiz on Google Forms to ensure understanding of the story.

HW:
-Finish vocabulary exercises A & B
-silent reading 30 minutes and complete a reading log in your silent reading journal (SSR log check is 6/15)
-SSR project due 6/15
-Lesson 10 vocab. test Thursday, Make a quizlet study set to help you study the words
-Grammar quiz on types of sentences on Thursday

-Reading Check Quiz on "The Monkey's Paw" on Thursday

2. Grammar: 4 Types of Sentences Packet complete p.2

3. Vocabulary: Lesson 10 Vocabulary Packet  (We will go over 10 A + B)
IF YOU MAKE A QUIZLET and WANT TO ADD YOUR STUDY SET TO THE CLASS, FIRST JOIN THE CLASS  BY CLICKING HERE.
Lesson 10 words will practiced using Kahoot or Quizlet.live.  You can also spend time studying with a partner, or working on the packet.
Students will complete exercises C& D independently or with a partner.
