1. Students will watch a video which models how to properly set up the "Inform and Explain" essay, following the MLA guidelines.
2. Discuss and identify the parts of the introduction paragraph of the "Inform and Explain" essay.
We will watch Mr. Chiang's video for instructions on crafting the introduction paragraph.
3. We will begin writing our introduction paragraphs.
If you have not yet chosen a career for your essay, revisit the Bureau of Labor Statistics Website.
Homework: Introduction paragraph due tomorrow. (Your classmates will make suggestions to it).
Period 5-6
1. Students will watch as the teacher models how to set up and write a compare and contrast essay.
2. We will discuss this as a class and examine the format to follow when writing our compare and contrast essays on The Monkey's Paw & The Third Wish.
3. Students will work on the Chromebooks to write their introductory paragraphs.
Homework: Introductory paragraphs are due tomorrow for peer editing.

Period 2-3
Do Now: Log onto vocabulary.com and begin familiarizing yourself with Chapter 1 Vocab. from TCOTW. (10-15 minutes)
Writing:
1. You will log into your essay and put it into "suggest" mode, then switch with an assigned classmate for feedback on your essay. Make suggestions on another person's essay with whom you have been assigned.
2. Students will watch a video which models how to properly write the Job Description paragraph of the essay.
3. Discuss and identify the parts of the Job Description paragraph of the "Inform and Explain" essay.
We will watch Mr. Chiang's video for instructions on crafting the Job Description paragraph.
4. We will begin writing our Job Description paragraphs.
You should be revisiting the Bureau of Labor Statistics Website for more information.
