Do Now Questions for 9/28-10/2
Mon. Is lying always bad?  If not, can you give an example of a lie that is not bad?
Tue. What is your opinion on school uniforms?
Wed. What is the toughest decision you have ever had to make?  Why was it so difficult?
Thu. What is the one problem in school that needs to be addressed?  Imagine that you are writing an anonymous letter to the principal, how would you solve this problem?
Fri. If you could be any TV character, who would you be and why?

3. Grammar Work:  complete sentence vs. sentence fragments
4. RACE Constructed Response: Thank You Ma'am by Langston Hughes
(Why is the character doing that?)
Ask yourself: Why is it important to take a closer look at a characters words and actions?  What can it mean when a character says or does something that contradicts what s/he has been doing/saying all along?

Ask yourself: What do you think we can learn from the story we read today?  What was the author’s message or goal in writing this story?  What does a good retell include?  Why is it important to include each of those details?
What happens if any details are left out?
